MD Pen Hair Restoration

MDPen microneedling applied to the scalp is an emerging and increasingly evidence-backed approach to hair restoration for androgenetic alopecia (pattern hair loss) and other forms of hair thinning. The micro-channels created by the device stimulate blood flow to the scalp and trigger the release of growth factors that can reactivate dormant hair follicles and support the growth of new, healthy hair.

Treatment is performed directly on the scalp using the MDPen device, typically in combination with a topical booster (PRP or a growth factor serum) that is absorbed through the micro-channels for enhanced effect. Sessions take approximately 45–60 minutes, including prep time.

A series of 4–6 treatments spaced 2–4 weeks apart is the standard starting protocol. Results develop gradually over 3–6 months as follicle activity increases. This treatment is not a replacement for medical hair loss treatment where indicated, but it is a meaningful non-surgical complement to a broader hair restoration plan.
